General information about the JCS regional consortia pricing model for schools
Our specially negotiated and exclusive regional consortia pricing model for Schools offers significant savings on top of the standard discounts that we have negotiated.
How does regional consortia pricing work?
- Pricing is calculated on the basis of the total number of learners at Secondary Schools and Sixth Form Colleges that choose to subscribe to a particular resource.
- The more Secondary Schools and Sixth Form Colleges in a region that subscribe to a resource, the cheaper it becomes over time.
- Just 2,500 or more learners from one or more Secondary Schools and Sixth Form Colleges are required to achieve the higher discounts (‘regional consortia rates’) per resource.
- Once the buying group rate has been reached for a particular resource in a particular region, all additional Secondary Schools and Sixth Form Colleges in the same region that wish to subscribe to the resource will benefit from the discounted rate.
Many regional bodies such as Local Authorities and Schools Library Services are taking advantage of the high volume discounts by subscribing to resources on behalf of schools centrally, or by coordinating groups of schools. Devolved administrations and government departments can also do the same.
