About JCS

JCS is a subscription agency for e-resources and has a large catalogue of resources from over a dozen leading international publishers for Schools, Further Education Colleges and Public Libraries. Our job is to promote these e-resources for the publishers and try to secure as many subscriptions as we can.

Marketing Assistant

There are many aspects to this role so you will need to be a highly organised person able to juggle lots of different tasks without letting any of them drop. JCS’s prime role is to market and sell subscriptions so you’ll be working at the heart of the business.

If you’re unsure of where you want to take your career, this role is a fantastic opportunity to learn all about marketing as well as sales and so develop a wide range of skills.  No one day will be the same so we can guarantee you’ll never be bored!

Once you’ve mastered all the products and systems you will be able to start supporting our Marketing Manager with the great variety of tasks the job involves.

Junior Account Executive

First, you’ll need to become familiar with the catalogue of e-resources we have available for schools so you can talk for a couple of minutes about each one. That’s not difficult as they’re all easy to use and full of interesting information. You may well have used something like them at school, college or university.

Our marketing activities bring in lots of enquiries and requests for free trials and those will form the basis of your to do list. Using the phone and email, you will send the information requested and follow up after a week or two with the aim of getting them to subscribe to one or more of the e-resources they have trialled.

Our easy to use online subscription service will help keep you organised by allowing you to track tasks against customer accounts, set up sales opportunities, and send out free trials and price quotations.

There are targets of course, but always achievable and not based on the number of phone calls you make in a day/week!

We sometimes organise events for librarians or attend conferences so you will occasionally have the opportunity meet your customers and prospective customers.
